Relax by the Mekong River

" If you’re looking for a luxurious lodge, this is not it. What you will get is an experience of a countryside and learning a different cultural side of Vietnam which is what I was looking for. I actually enjoyed the sounds of roosters because it’s not what I’m accustomed to. The tours and food is included which is plentiful (you pay for drinks). The rooms are very roomy, but simple. During your dinner, the rooms are turned down with mosquito nets which are nice touches. The tours included walking through the neighbourhood(someone was older so we walked instead of biked), floating market and food market. It was a great way to understand the culture, but also couldn’t help but notice how polluted it was as well. Mekong lodge is a great place if you want to have another perspective and just relax and enjoy the landscape by the pool."

A quite place along Mekong

" An ideal place to relax and slow down, at the pace of the magnificent Mekong. The bungalows spread in a splendid tropical garden. The rooms are eco-friendly, simple but comfortable and really large, not to mention the bathroom. The food is good as usual in Vietnam and the breakfast buffet offers a wide choice, including Pho soup. Two French speaking staff members (who probably also speak English make sure that you spend good time. They organise the classical excursions to the Cai Be floating market, the local market and diverse artisans.
They put bicycles at your disposal, free of charge, which makes it easy to freely explore the area. Odd enough contrary to Europe and the US the locks in bicycles are minimal and it looks like they do not get stolen as quickly as in the West. And personal safety is no issue unless you look for trouble."

Lovely & peaceful place

We spent two nights here as part of a trip around Cambodia & Vietnam and felt that was the perfect amount of time. The organised trips were good and they offered walking alteratives for those who prefer not to ride bikes. The pool area is also lovely. The food was OK, but not quite up to the standard we expecting having read previous reviews. The natural noises of the Delta mean it can be quite noisy, so I'd recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Great solace to stay

The place looks like heaven. A lot of flowers , greens, bungalows spreading in betweens.

Kind and smiling stuff. Clean. Nice lunch and dinner. We did absolutely authentic bicycle tour with a guide from a lodge and boat trip to markets.

In the evening they do cooking show and you have a chance to see how they prepare your dinner.

Recommended.
